With Politicians talking in SHAYRANA andaaz an idea occurred to me to collect some nice piece of literature in form of shayari to be collected in a page.
Our Dear Manmohan quoted Galib:
हमको उनसे वफ़ा की है उम्मीद
जो नहीं जानते वफ़ा क्या है
Humko hai unse wafa ki umeed, jo nahi jaante wafa kya hai
(We hope for loyalty from those who do not know the meaning of the word)
This evoked thunderous response from the house.
To this Sushma Swaraj replied with:
कुछ तो मजबूरियां रही होंगी, यूं ही कोई बेवफा नहीं होता
Kuch to majbooriya rahi hongi yun koi bewafa nahi hota
(There must have been some compulsions, one is not disloyal for no reason at all)
तुम्हे वफ़ा याद नहीं , हमें जफा याद नहीं |
ज़िन्दगी और मौत के तोह दो ही तराने हैं , एक तुम्हें याद नहीं , एक हमें याद नहीं ||
Tumhe wafa yaad nahee, Humein jafa yaad nahee, Zindagi or maut ke toh do hee tarane hain, ek tumhein yaad nahee, ek humein yaad naheen
(You don't remember loyalty, we don't remember disloyalty, life and death have two rhythms, you don't remember one, we don't remember the other)."
